Carbon put to good use
I have been fascinated with the idea of materials such as graphene, nanotubes, and diamond for quite a while. All of these have very intriguing properties, especially when it comes to physical strength. All are also made entirely from carbon. If there were some way to efficiently extract elemental carbon from the CO2 in the air and the plastic in the ocean, and fabricate these materials easily and cheaply, these high-tech forms of carbon might be able to replace less sustainable resources that we currently rely on.
