The ISCFC is all about reducing our individual and collective contributions to climate change.
But is climate change really happening? Is it mostly caused by human activity, including our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases?
In the United States and elsewhere, there are people who are not convinced by the science. But the great thing about science is that we use evidence to evaluate scientific questions. So what is the evidence related to climate change?
Are you or are you not convinced by the majority of climate scientists who say that climate change is real and largely human caused? Why are you convinced/not convinced? What evidence might change your mind one way or the other?
Is Climate Change Real & Human-Caused? >
Climate change
Yes! I believe climate change is a huge threat and that we need to take action, I think a lot of people under-estimate their carbon footprint which is a dangerous thing because you could be causing more harm than you think. Humans are the primary cause of climate change because we seem to be having a hard time creating clean energy and ditching older methods such as coal mining.
I agree! Climate change is obviously real and humans are the number one reason why the climate is changing so rapidly. We have the technology to change our energy sources so instead of using energy sources like burning fossil fuels we should resort to more cleaner ways like solar power, wind power and power from the tides. Once we do that our future is going to look a lot brighter, and and humans and animals can live peacefully and happily with no worries.
Very true! We can't just continue making climate change worse and worse. It is possible to live without using a car three times a day or flying all around the world and back again. We have expanded our knowledge of technology, let's also expand our knowledge of less carbon emissions in the air. When there are important meetings, do them online instead of flying to them. Also small things like turn off the light when you leave a room can bring large change when many people do it. I believe that even though volcanoes erupt sometimes, it is our fault that the carbon levels in the air are increasing so fast and that this isn't a cycle that will go away on its own. We have to act now!!!
