Is having the latest technology a want or a need?
How often do you get a new cel phone or mp3 player? Did you really need a new model? Do you consider the environmental impact of these purchases? If you are addicted, how can you break your addiction?
Wants or Needs? >
wanting vs needing
Wants and needs are sometimes hard to distinguish. Needing a new car might be buying a used care at a reasonable price for you. But wanting a new care is buying a fancy new one at a price you can't afford.
I agree. If we limit our wants we could quite possibly be lowering our carbon footprint.
Yes, I think it is important to be able to know the difference between wanting and needing something. We would be able to lower our carbon footprint by using, and buying less products that we do not actually need. If you do not thing you will use it than just don't buy it. It will help lower your carbon footprint a lot.
I agree. I think that there is a huge difference between wants and needs. If humans only bought or got what they needed, I think that most people's carbon footprints would go down. There are a lot of unnecessary "wants" that have a big impact on global warming and carbon footprints. Hopefully in the future people will start to realize this.
I agree, we are sometimes blinded by our wants and we don't realise they're aren't actually needs that we could do away with. Being able to realise the difference between our needs and wants would be a big step to slow down global warming.
