Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My assumptions for these results were that they were going to make less than the average person in Mexico, but to my surprise they were greater, there was not much difference from some values to others, however, for the planet these changes are very valuable.
Now that I have realized this, I am going to generate a change in my life, modifying certain things that harm more, it is necessary for a sustainable future.

I agree with you. After getting my results back, I am going to start changing and forming new, better, habits because even the smallest things add up to have huge effects on the environment. For example, I have already begun unplugging everything from phone chargers to lamps to lower my energy use at home! In order to have a more sustainable future, everyone must do their part, whether big or small.
