I think to keep a low foot print we should all get out and be more active and ride are bikes to school, only buy what you need and have some one in your house be a light police. A light police makes sure all the lights are out if no one if in the room or using it. Another good way to have a low carbon foot print is you should carpool to school or take the bus.
