Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Do you Want it or Need it?

seb1234

A huge problem in our life today is deciding if something is a want or need. A need is defined as something you need to have and can't do without. Where on the other hand, a want is something you would like to have, but you can live without it. A few things that we need to live are food, water, and certain minerals. Although a want for example could be a new video game that you really want to play. It seems us as Americans feel we need way more stuff then we actually do, when there are people in areas on our earth without clean water.
