Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

How can we conserve energy use around our homes?
- Turn off light switches once a room is left.
- Turn water off when it is not needed.
- Turn off any unnecessary heating or cooling systems around the house.
Some other things that you can do are...
1. Make sure your electronics chargers are not plugged into the wall because they still draw power even when they are connected.
2. See if your thermostat has a "night" or "away mode" which would use less power
3. Wash your clothes in cold water
4. Hang dry instead of tumble dry
5. Replace your old incandescent bulbs with energy efficient bulbs
6, Run the dishwasher/laundry machine only when they are full
