Wants or Needs?

Is having the latest technology a want or a need?

How often do you get a new cel phone or mp3 player? Did you really need a new model? Do you consider the environmental impact of these purchases? If you are addicted, how can you break your addiction?

Eating animals arent necessary but just a want for some people. There are arguments that a vegan diet doesn't provide enough protein for people to be healthy but this isn't true. A vegan diet can help the environment and lower your carbon footprint. I personally am not on a fully vegan diet yet but in the process of letting go of my old diet to a fully vegan one but I am lactose intolerant so I'm closer to my goal. I believe that this change will not only help my health but help the environment around and future generations to come.

I agree! The stigma around veganism is something that is holding back true improvements to societies health and the well being or our planet. I think the public needs to be educated on the impacts animal agriculture has had on the planet as well on our own bodies. Eating animal products is something most people have been taught up to do. It is extremely difficult to change peoples minds and lifestyle. Although we can attempt to do our part by spreading awareness.

I agree. I was a vegetarian for 6 almost 7 years and there are plenty of ways to gain proper nutrients if done correctly. Farming animals for slaughter takes a significant amount of land, water, and crops that all could be used to feed people rather than the animal. Farm animals also release so much methane gas into the atmosphere. I do hope people start to embrace a more vegetarian/vegan diet in the future to help the environment. The first thing I always told my friends to do is at the bare minimum cut red meat such as cows from their diet. It's not necessary for survival but rather a want for a steak or burger.
