Is Climate Change Real & Human-Caused?

The ISCFC is all about reducing our individual and collective contributions to climate change.

But is climate change really happening? Is it mostly caused by human activity, including our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases?

In the United States and elsewhere, there are people who are not convinced by the science. But the great thing about science is that we use evidence to evaluate scientific questions. So what is the evidence related to climate change?

Are you or are you not convinced by the majority of climate scientists who say that climate change is real and largely human caused? Why are you convinced/not convinced? What evidence might change your mind one way or the other?

Yes, It is mostly human caused.

We, as a species, burn a substantial amount of fossil fuels releasing a majority of the Carbon Dioxide into the atmosphere, which is the most prevalent greenhouse gas in the atmosphere. Also, large animal farms release a large amount of Methane and most other products that we have usually in some way trace back to something that produced greenhouse emissions.

Yes, us humans are the main cause for climate change. Although changes in Earths climate have been happening since day 1 of Earth, the climate change today is much different because now it is mainly because of the quick, intense build up through the years that has solely been driven by humans. Things that we do such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation, airplanes, all ground vehicles, etc. are huge contributes to global warming and climate change. Because of these things the climate is changing at a fast rate that it's not supposed to be at. Due to the unnaturally fast pace, glaciers have been melting, ice in rivers and oceans have also been melting, animal and plant ranges have been shifting, and theres more to come. With global warming and climate change on the rise things such as more frequent and severe weather, dirty air, more acidic oceans, higher death rates due to the heat, more animal species will go extinct, and sea level rise are all affects that will occur due to climate change.
