Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

MY CARBON FOOTPRINT
Hi, I'm Mireia, a student from Spain. As for my carbon footprint, it is lower than average. I think that apart from the fact that due to the pandemic we have traveled less, another reason could be that I am always walking to all the places without taking any transport and in my house we try to be as sustainable as possible.
Hi Mireia!
I think exactly the same as you, since my carbon footprint has turned out to be lower than the average too. At first, I was surprised because I use my motorbike quite often and I thought that it would increase my footprint but, as you say, the covid pandemic needs to be taken into consideration as well. I reckon this year all carbon footprints will be lower than the average due to the fact that less airplanes are taken in order to travel, since it's so restricted.
So, don't worry, we can't be the only ones with this idea. I believe someone will join our discussion and solve our doubt;)
Fun fact, in the US people’s transportation footprint has been larger during the pandemic.
In my area the transportation average has gotten higher during the pandemic.
I agree with all of you, but I think it’s important that now that with the pandemic we have reduced our carbon footprint so much, that we reflect on the issue, and when the pendemic ends we can continue the same. I hope that it’s becoming easier to use electric transport and that therefore we can reduce carbon emissions worldwide.
I agree with the idea of keeping our carbon footprints reduced after the pandemic. Even though there will probably be more traveling when it’s “over”, I think there are ways to have fun while still being cautious of your impact.
