Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Spreading awareness

Quinn the sci guy

I think that one aspect of carbon footprints that could be easily progressed relates to awareness. Reading through these comments it’s easy to see that many of us students are surprised at our results. It seems almost universal that kids wants to try and reduce or footprints no matter how large or small they already are. Some important steps we could take are spreading awareness about carbon footprints to students and more importantly adults all over the world. If we are able to raise awareness people are more likely to look into their own footprint and attempt to make some change. Does anyone have ideas for ways to do this?
