Raise price of meat

Georgous

We like meat. Sausages, bacon, and burgers, sizzling away in a frying pan, just waiting to be eaten. However, the price of one mouthful of meat is hundreds of kilograms of carbon, not including the methane produced by the animals themselves. Therefore, by  raising the price of meat through taxes and funneling that money towards the climate, we can reverse or at least slow the damage caused. There will be an outcry over this. There will be a lot of companies angry over this. But, for the good of our children, our children’s children, and all of our descendants, it is one of the best moves towards a better future.

I love this idea of raising prices on meat because the production and process of selling meat is very costly towards our environment and produces a ton of carbon. A lot of us need protein so we shouldn't completely cut meat from our diets but raising the prices might help us lower our carbon footprint over time.

I agree strongly. We, consumers, should definitely become more aware of what we buy and take action for the better good. Raising prices especially on meat products doesn't just lessen the carbon foot prints but it also benefits massively on human/consumer health.

Sure it is fine, but along with the raised prices, the quality of the meat should be raised too.
