Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Carbon footprint
My personal footprint was about 13,000 and the average footprint in NC is around 15,000 but the worldwide is around 3,000. Although my footprint was lower than the NC average it was much higher than the worldwide average which surprised me. I think due to me being a kid I don't have such a high footprint because most stuff is up to my parents. But I also think i have a much higher footprint than worldwide because alot of people have much less than me. I think I can reduce my footprint by paying more mind to my surroundings and actions, I often realized I did things that raised my footprint that I didn't even realize I was doing so if I pay attention for example turn the lights off every time I leave a room I can lower my footprint
To reduce your carbon footprint, you can eat local and organic food. You can pay attention to sort your waste and stop the use of plastic bottle.
There are small but impactful steps that can lead to reducing your carbon footprint such as limiting energy use in your home. I found that my carbon emissions mostly rooted from home appliances. One thing that you can do is hang your wet laundry inside or outside to dry rather than using a dyer machine. This may take more or less time than the dryer depending of the humidity of the air which you can search from the weather app in your location. You could also try to unplug household appliances such as your toaster, computers, and vacuum when they are not in use. Actions like these, when practiced regularly, can make a substantial impact on your carbon footprint.
