Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Problems with America
One of the greatest problems the United States has is our culture of ignorance, especially about the environment. Despite ignorance generally being viewed as a bad thing, people in the U.S. tend to reward a lack of information, as shown by several of our current political leaders, who continue to deny the validity of Climate Change and Global Warming. Corporate corruption continues to plague our political system, leading to lobbying by several major companies. Because they sink money into Senators and Congressmen, the people we have in office currently aren't fighting the corporations that are slowly destroying our Ice caps. The best thing we can do is to try and lower our own Carbon Footprints to make up for the overabundance of Greenhouse Gasses in the atmosphere,
This is because money runs the country. The biggest companies are oil companies, and they hate having to do anything about climate change. These companies influence politicians and it makes it so we can't do anything
