Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

How we can lower our carbon footprints

Eli Daniel

Being a freshman, my transportation footprint is not nearly as high as it would be if I was driving. However I am able to get everywhere that I need to and still keep it moderately low. We can apply this to every category of our carbon footprints by only indulging in things that we need. For example, we don't need to eat meat everyday in order to survive, we can make more conscious decisions about or daily activities in order to lower our carbon footprints by a substantial amount.
