Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint (North Carolina)
My name is Hannah. I am 17 years old and from Mooresville, North Carolina in the United States of America. My carbon footprint total was 10,605 which is quite a bit below the average in my region, which in 15,918. The majority of my carbon footprint came from my transportation which took 4,507. I did not expect that to be my carbon footprint at all. I thought mine would be so much higher above the average, it didn’t even occur to me that it could be lower. I thought my home and food would be highest but they were some of the lowest out of my class and the region. I learned that even though I think I do a lot, I guess for my size, I don’t really use as much as I thought I did. In the future, I can definitely take shorter showers because I take super long showers and I can turn off all my appliances when I’m not using them, and I could probably not drive around quite as much, because I’m always going places that I don’t necessarily need to go.
