Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

How to lower my carbon footprint

nalubod

One way to lower your carbon footprint is to start recycling and composting. During the quiz, I realized that I haven't been recycling as much as I should be and that it's really affecting our earth as well as compositing.

I think the easiest way to have recycling become second nature is to try and Engage others in your family. My family uses three separate bags at home that have pictures to show what should go. In terms of recycling in public, the best thing I do is when I can't find a trash can that is specifically used for recycling. I will hold onto it until I find one or get home.

You could also try and cut back on getting single-use things and re-use things such as plastic takeout boxs
