Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Doing my Part
The carbon footprint calculator has helped me realize the importance of lowering my emissions and becoming more aware of some bad habits that have a bigger affect on the environment then I think. According to Food and Agriculture Organization of the United states, Total emissions from global livestock: 7.1 Gigatonnes of Co2-equiv per year, representing 14.5 percent of all anthropogenic GHG emissions. This statistics shows the scary amounts of not only cruelty so many animals go through and how vast the meat industry is, but also how these productions affect virtually the entire world through the insane amount of emissions contributed from the meat industry. By eating meat I am only supporting the poor treatment or these animals and contributing to the dangerously high levels of emissions that need to be lowered. One goal of mine is to lower my meat consumption at least by a little bit. This way I can better the environment and help lower my emissions.
