The ISCFC is all about reducing our individual and collective contributions to climate change.
But is climate change really happening? Is it mostly caused by human activity, including our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases?
In the United States and elsewhere, there are people who are not convinced by the science. But the great thing about science is that we use evidence to evaluate scientific questions. So what is the evidence related to climate change?
Are you or are you not convinced by the majority of climate scientists who say that climate change is real and largely human caused? Why are you convinced/not convinced? What evidence might change your mind one way or the other?
Is Climate Change Real & Human-Caused? >
Climate change is real.
By burning fossil fuels, cutting down trees, and raising livestock, humans are rapidly affecting the atmosphere and the earth's temperature. This adds massive quantities of greenhouse gases to the already existing ones in the atmosphere, amplifying the greenhouse effect and contributing to global warming. Humans are definitely the biggest cause and portion of climate change. But are we the only cause? No, many weather changes are happening recently. This isn't just a product of human activity. Temperature extremes can be influenced significantly by small changes in the Earth's orbit around the Sun. Shifts in the Earth's orbit around the Sun from a nearly circular to a more elliptical path are caused by changes in the Earth's path around the Sun. Temperatures are more extreme during the summer and winter months as the Earth slowly adopts a more elliptical orbit.
I absolutely agree with this. I heard and saw many marine animal die because the waters are getting too warm due to climate change. I also saw many trees get cut down for business and the water levels are rising because places such as Iceland and Antarctica are melting due to warm waters and a much warmer climate in general.
