Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

my carbon footprint

Elenaaa

My total carbon footprint is quite high, it is lower than average carbon footprint of Italy but it is higher than wordwide ones. My higher category is home, maybe because I burn wood to heat my home, I sometimes forget my computer on charge and I also have long showers. Transportation is also high, I think it is higher than other categories because my family and I usually go on holiday by our car and I go to the swimming pool by car 2 or 3 times a week, and the pool is 73km away from my home.To reduce my carbon footprint I’m going to have shorter showers in order to save some water, I’m going to pay attention to switch off the computer when I don’t use it and I’m going to remove my phone or computer from the electricity when they are charge; this is only small actions but I think that they can be important.
