Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

How can I reduce my transportation footprint

ALVEBOD

My Transportation footprint is massive right now. My family has 3 cars 2 of which run on normal gas and one that is electric. My family uses the electric one and one gas car for work and school. But when we travel as a family we use the electric car. I think if we had another gas car my footprint would be even more massive. The only reason why my number is getting held down is because of my electric car. I looked up an article that said, "help reduce this threat because almost all U.S. electricity is produced from domestic sources, including coal, nuclear, natural gas, and renewable sources. EVs can also reduce the emissions that contribute to climate change and smog, improving public health and reducing ecological damage."
