Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Reducing my Carbon Footprint

noluBOD

I noticed on my carbon footprint calculator that my carbon footprint. I can reduce my carbon footprint by not using the heating system in my house for all 12 months of the year because it runs on gas. I know that during the summer I definitely do not need to keep the heat on because of hot hot it is. My house has a lot of windows which lets in light during the summer which makes the house very warm. I also know that to reduce my carbon footprint I can turn some of the lights off when I am there because I know I don't need all the lights on all the time. I can also carpool more when the COVID-19 pandemic is over to reduce my footprint and to buy more locally source foods at my farmers markets. I can also thrift more and buy second hand when possible to reduce my carbon footprint.
