Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

How can we limit our own carbon footprints?

liblBOD

I have always known there are different ways I reduce my carbon footprint, but never really thought about implementing them into my everyday life until calculating my own carbon footprint. One way I have recently reduced my carbon footprint is by taking to bus too and from school. By using public transportation instead of my own car, I am reducing the carbon emissions produces by my vehicle. Although some students are unable to use public transportation, I think this is one way many students can help the environment and for the most part is pretty easy to add to your everyday life. If we don't reduce carbon emissions by 60% by 2050, it is going to be very hard to recover from the state the world will be in, and we will be in a very serious global crisis. If students start taking public transportation more, this will help us reach out carbon emission goals and help the planet extremely.
