Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Plans to reduce my carbon foot print

Duncan.PS

After taking the carbon footprint tracker survey I learned that there are three main areas in my life where I exceed the average person's carbon footprint, Home, transportation, and food. After learning about my carbon footprint I decided to learn more about the ways I can cut back on my carbon footprint.

When it comes to my home life, I can do many things to cut back on carbon emissions. The first idea I had was to make a conscious effort to turn off all the lights in a room when I leave it. Another idea I had was cutting back on the amount of time I'm in the shower. When it comes to waste I have not been the best at reusing many of the plastic containers that come with food and I believe it would be a good idea if I started to do that. when it comes to transportation the only thing I could practically think of doing is riding my bike more instead of relying on a car and in the future investing in an electric vehicle. Food-wise, I believe it would be smart to cut back to eating meat at most once per day.
