Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Reducing my Carbon Footprint
After completing and reviewing my carbon footprint survey, I noticed that the food category happened to be above average at almost 2,365 kg. I tend to eat a lot of meat, so a possible solution would be to implement a bit more vegetarian meals. Specifically, I could buy meats that leave behind a smaller carbon footprint and replace beef with chicken or pork. Additionally, I found my home's carbon footprint to be rather high as well, based on water activities. I think a simple and realistic fix would include being more efficient with our water usage, such as taking shorter showers, turning off the water during washing the dishes/brushing teeth and looking into installing low water volume toilets.
