Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Reducing my Carbon Footprint
After receiving the results of my carbon footprint from the calculator, I realized transportation was above average. This lead me to receiving an above average score on the calculator. This is no surprise as transportation throws in 1.9 billion tons of carbon into the air each year as of 2017, and is the top source for carbon emissions in the US (https://e360.yale.edu/digest/transporta … -emissions). Being a student-athlete my parents definitely drive more than usual. To reduce this I could either carpool with a friend, or buy an all electric car. Carpooling with a friend is definitely the easier and more affordable option, that could affect a lot of my transportation carbon footprint. I also wish to work on trying to buy more reusable, non plastic objects. Moreover, we buy plastic bottles, and plastic bags from the store more than usual. If we get a reusable bag or even try to avoid using a bag, that would significantly help my carbon footprint.
