Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

How I can reduce my carbon footprint
Climate change is the cause of humans destroying the earth. Climate change includes both global warmings driven by human-induced emissions of greenhouse gases and the resulting large-scale shifts in weather patterns. We can see these changes in our Earth's atmosphere starting to occur. We've been too greedy and selfish to try and change these problems. Carbon footprints help us understand how you are affecting the earth instead of blaming other people on climate change. In my carbon foot, the most total measurement bar that contributes to my CO2 emissions is transportation. This did not surprise me because my family does not own an electric car. Although it was still surprising, I usually walk to walkable places and carpool whenever I can. To reduce my carbon footprint in transportation I can try to carpool more and persuade my parents to save up for an electric car or something more sustainable for the planet. In the other categories of the measurements bar, I was not above average but I can still work towards reducing the CO2 I use in those categories. In the home category, I can use fewer fans and reduce the amount of heat we use to reduce my carbon footprint. In the category food, I can reduce the amount of chicken and beef I eat to reduce my carbon footprint. Lastly in purchases, I can reduce the amount of newly owned items I buy. To try and reduce certain gases that are bad for the environment and causing climate change to worsen, we have to focus on ourselves independently and then work together to reduce landfill and pollution throughout the world.
