Special Issue on SSPs: Quantification of the new SSPs for climate change research

Edited by Keywan Riahi and Detlef van Vuuren

One key element of the development of the new Shared Socioeconomic Pathways is the quantification of these scenarios by Integrated Assessment Models (IAMs) and other models. A special issue of the journal Global Environmental Change (scroll down to special section articles) describes the quantification of drivers and IAM model outcomes and forms a key reference to SSPs. The following papers are part of the special issue and include papers on

  • The narratives of the SSPs
  • The quantification of the SSPs for population
  • The quantification of the SSPs for economic activity
  • The quanification of the SSPs for urbanization
  • IAM model scenarios based on the SSPs.
