MSW students, the School of Environmental and Forest Sciences (SEFS) is hiring for an hourly ASE (academic student employees) field trip support position for Spring 2025:
Course: ESRM 201 – Sustaining Pacific Northwest Ecosystems
Dates: March 16th, 2025 to June 15th, 2025
Compensation: $30.03/hour | Approx. 15 hours per week, not to exceed 19.5 hours in any one week | Must be in good academic standing.

ESRM 201 Sustaining Pacific Northwest Ecosystems (5) NSc/SSc
Introduces the principles of ecology across an urban to wildland gradient and discusses how these landscapes can be sustainably managed. Explores basic ecological theories, plant communities, soil, climate, pollution, hydrology, and wildlife in classroom, labs, and field trips.

(Revisited 4/25) Graduating MSW students, a nationally respected outpatient treatment program in Bellevue, WA. is looking for an MSW graduate to work as a clinical outpatient therapist. Commence forwarded message:
The position will start as part-time, but should increase to full-time fairly quickly. The therapist will work along side experienced therapists in running treatment groups for adolescents and adults with sexual behavior problems, as well as learn to perform psychosexual evaluations. Training will be provided so that the therapist can provide individual therapy with adolescents and adults. Assistance in getting licensed and certified as a sex offender treatment provider will also be provided. This position is a wonderful opportunity for an MSW graduate or soon to be graduate to gain entry into a challenging but very rewarding career in the field of sexual abuse. We are a small program with a total of four therapists, and I plan to retire in the next year or two and would like to train a replacement therapist during that time.
If you are a good writer, have a good sense of humor, and are ready to work in the field of sexual abuse, please contact me via e-mail or phone to discuss the next steps. We expect the initial rate of pay will be about $40.00 hour, but is negotiable and will increase quickly with experience.

On behalf of Point(Be) and SSW, we would like to invite to you to attend town hall with Point(Be) on Monday, 3/31, 6-7pm PST on Zoom. The town hall will be facilitated by Julia Alvarez (she/her) and Danny Alvarez (they/them) from Point b(e) Strategies. Point(be) have been working with the UW SSW on the development of its 5-year strategic framework.
For the student town hall, the intention is to update students on the planning process to date and share the strategic priorities and guiding principles that are emerging from conversations and engagement with staff, faculty, students, and community partners. There will be discussion or information gathering (depending on the size of the group) to gather reflections on or reactions to the priorities and guiding principles, and to gather student input on what the School should focus on in year 1 of implementation.

At Seattle Area Feline Rescue, we believe in supporting cats and the humans who love them. In following this mission, we’re excited to announce that SAFe Rescue is now offering monthly wellness clinics, assisting cats owned by low-income individuals by providing low-cost care and services. These clinics are offered to help support families who need wellness services for their feline companions. Please note that at this time, we are not able to help with sick or injured animals, and we are only able to offer services and care for cats at this time.
SAFe Rescue’s monthly Community Wellness Clinics are held inside of our Community Lobby located at 20226 Ballinger Way NE, Seattle, WA 98155. Our next clinic date is scheduled for Monday, April 7th 2025. Appointments are required. Please do not show up without an appointment. If you’d like to make an appointment, please use the buttons down below to book and appointment depending on the number of cats you plan on bringing.
