General Duties/Description:

Pharmacotherapeutics is a 7-course series which is a critical component of the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program curriculum. This course series provides a foundation in knowledge for patient-centered clinical case management. This TA position supports 3 of the courses in this series.

PHRMCY 536 Fall Quarter | Dr. Shelly Gray

Provides a foundation in knowledge for patient-centered clinical case management. Includes assessment and pharmacotherapeutic management of issues related to gender-related health and care, reproductive health, geriatrics, rheumatological diseases, and diseases affecting the urological, dermatological and ophthalmic systems. Prerequisite: PHRMCY 535. Offered: A.

PHRMCY 531 Winter Quarter | Dr. Mary Hebert

First course in a 7-course series providing a foundation in knowledge for patient-centered clinical case management. Includes introduction to pharmacotherapeutics and special populations, over-the-counter medications and self-care. Offered: W.

PHRMCY 532 Spring Quarter | Dr. Brian Werth

Second course in a 7-course series providing a foundation in knowledge for patient-centered clinical case management. Includes assessment and management of drug-related hypersensitivity and various bacterial, fungal, and viral infectious diseases. Prerequisite: PHRMCY 531. Offered: Sp.

TA Responsibilities Include:

  • Total work hours per week = 20 hours
  • Support coursemaster in organizing course material, setting up course website on UW Canvas, managing recordings (if applicable).
  • Support coursemaster with class-wide communication, including responding to general student inquiries.
  • Assist with grading.
  • Managing course website as needed
  • Overseeing weekly office hours and student makeups as needed
  • Attending scheduled course sessions
  • Proctoring assessments as needed

Requirements: Current Masters or PhD student with good communication and organizational skills. Desired – Health Sciences Graduate student or current graduate student with a PharmD degree.

Salary: Salary is commensurate with academic standing, qualifications, and experience. This position is eligible for a full tuition waiver and all benefits of UAW Academic Student Employees. This position is paid at the Department of Pharmacy Regular (Non-Variable) rate (see salary charts here).

This is why Pathwaves WA looks for individuals who want to transform the field of Early Childhood Policy in Washington state to join our upcoming 2024-2026 Fellowship.

Each fellow in our program will be employed full-time and placed at one of our placement sites in a policy role (advocacy, community organizing and mobilization, policy and fiscal analysis, policy research, policy-focused communications, policy development, and more).

In addition to working full-time at placement sites, Fellows participate in professional development every week, which includes mentorship, career coaching, training, workshops, and more.

Qualifications

We are looking for Fellowship applicants who:

  • Have a strong desire to impact the field of early childhood policy
  • Reflect the communities most impacted by systemic injustices.   
  • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have a growth mindset, are curious and open to new ideas, and have a desire to learn and be challenged
  • Aspire to co-create joyful, reflective space for growth with other BIPOC leaders

Eligibility

We will consider any and all applicants with diverse work experiences. We do not have a minimum education level requirement for this Fellowship. Rather, we are looking for BIPOC folks who:

  • Have 6+ cumulative years of experience in early childhood work (or in related fields, such as policy work, healthcare, social services, community organizing, etc.), whether the years of experiences are professional, educational, volunteer experience, or any combination of the aforementioned
  • Live in Washington state
  • Have legal authority to work in the U.S.

ESOL Teacher (June 25 – July 26)

The Foundation for International Understanding Through Students (FIUTS) is seeking ESOL teachers for a 4-week summer program for international high school students participating in a summer camp program based on the University of Washington campus. Youth Summer Program Counselor (June 24 – July 31)

Four Youth Summer Program Counselors will support the Foundation for International Understanding Through Students (FIUTS) visiting programs team to execute a month-long camp on the University of Washington campus and in the Seattle area. This position is temporary and includes approximately 250 hours of work. Summer Policy Intern Profile

Are you a policy nerd, a dreamer, a doer? The Senate Democratic Caucus invites graduate students to apply for the Summer Policy Intern position. The caucus is looking for individuals who are interested in exploring impactful policy work that puts people first.

You will engage in meaningful work alongside caucus policy staff to aid with legislative research and policy development, while also having the chance to gain professional development skills and hands on learning experiences in a legislative environment. You will also have the chance to network and build lasting connections with other members of the legislative community. Your work will encompass all policy areas, including law & justice, transportation, elections, state operations, environment, energy, technology, natural resources, land use, education, employment, health, human services, and housing.

The caucus’ Summer Policy Intern program itself is 8 weeks long, with flexibility to schedule the internship to occur from June through September. Compensation is provided at a rate of $3,531 per month for 35 hours per week. There is flexibility to do part time work and extend the duration of the internship. There is also flexibility to complete some of the internship while working remotely within the State of Washington.

Intern Responsibilities

· Conduct legislative policy research and summarize policy issues.

· Attend legislative meetings, possible committee hearings, and other events.

· Contribute to drafting letters, talking points, and white papers.

· Contribute to legislation development.

· Collaborate with legislative staff and other summer interns.

Qualifications

· Current enrollment as a student at a graduate school in the State of Washington. All majors and fields of study are welcome.

· Analytical and research skills, especially in prioritizing and concisely summarizing complex information in writing.

· Willingness to practice critical thinking, collaborate, and engage with new perspectives.

These small grants (<$5,000) support efforts to promote resilience, compassion and sustainability and foster connection and community at the UW. Seed grants support impactful activities, programming, projects and/or applied research that align with the following goals of the Resilience Lab and the CSF:

  • To foster connectedness, belonging and community;
