Alex Greninger, MD, PhD, MS, MPhil ~ Principal Investigator

Alex Greninger is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, assistant director of the clinical virology laboratories at the University of Washington Medical Center, and a board-certified clinical pathologist. Dr.Greninger earned an MS in Biological Sciences/Immunology from Stanford, an MPhil in Epidemiology from Cambridge (UK), an MD/PhD from UCSF, and completed his laboratory medicine residency at the University of Washington. He has a broad interest in anything that improves diagnostics and enables us to treat or prevent viral infection.

Nicole Lieberman, PhD

Research Scientist

Nicole joined the lab as a Research Scientist 4 in 2019. She holds a BSc from the University of Calgary, an MS from North Carolina State University, and a PhD from the University of Maryland in molecular biochemistry. Prior to joining us, her research focused on the development of immune therapies for solid tumors.

Amanda Casto, MD, PhD

Acting Instructor

Amanda is a Postdoc with a broad interest in virology and infectious disease. She is currently working on genomic evolution of humans and pathogens.

Jonathan Reed, PhD

Research Scientist

Jon joined the lab as a Senior Research Scientist with extensive experience in retroviral assembly. Jon received his BS from Oregon State University, an MS in Epidemiology and a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from University of Washington.
