Greetings all,
Thank you very much for the opportunity to share a couple of Street Yoga‘s upcoming opportunities with the UW School of Social Work.
(1) Yoga for Trauma: Mind/Body Resources for Working with Marginalized Communities
Note: DECEMBER IS THE LAST MONTH FOR EARLY-BIRD PRICING!
Yoga for Trauma is a training for care professionals who want yoga-based tools to help people manage symptoms of trauma. Street Yoga and Yoga Behind Bars are thrilled to host Hala Khouri in Seattle.
Deepen your understanding of the physiology of trauma and how trauma propels behavior in youth and adults labeled “at risk” due to poverty, racism, violence, abuse, accidents, and other factors. Learn effective tools to help facilitate the release of trauma and enhance your classes for those “at risk”.

The West Coast Poverty Center is pleased to announce the WCPC Winter seminar series with exciting speakers from Michigan, Oregon State, Georgia State and – of course – UW.
As a reminder, graduate students and advanced undergraduate students (with instructor approval) can sign up to take seminars as a class (SOC WL 556, 1 credit on a credit/no-credit basis). Enrolled students participate in seminars, meet with speakers, network with students from other departments, and complete a brief professional development activity. Students can take the seminar in multiple quarters.
