Volunteer Opportunity – Searching for Take Back the Night Performers and Speakers!

At the end of April, SARVA will be putting on another Take Back the Night and we’re searching for poets, speakers, and performers of all kinds! This quarter we’ll be switching it up a little and we’re very excited to announce that our Take Back the Night will be in the form of a candlelight vigil to commemorate survivors and victims of sexual assault and relationship violence.

We’re searching for people to share their stories, experiences, and thoughts regarding sexual and relationship violence in whatever form of expression makes the most sense for them. Since this is a candlelight vigil (as opposed to our traditional open mic), we’re hoping to have a greater amount of opportunities for people to give performances and to be scheduled speakers than we have in the past (although please note that due to time constraints, it is possible that not everyone who is interested in performing will be able to do so).

If you think you might be interested in speaking or performing at Take Back the Night, please contact SARVA’s Assistant Director at asuwdsa@uw.edu for more information on the event and to discuss your thoughts.

Have a great last few days of spring break!

Best,
Rachel Weisbeck | Director
