**The Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Fellowship is designed to engage a curated cohort of emerging entrepreneurs at the undergraduate or graduate level. The CGI Fellowship aims to equip these social changemakers with essential resources and mentorship to develop and execute initiatives tackling pressing global challenges.  Deadline: March 15 

Center for Human Rights Scholarships – Application opens February 12th- Deadline: March 15

**Davis-Putter Scholarship – For progressive activists: Open to people active in movements for social and economic justice and who have financial need. Deadline: April 1

**The Harlan Hahn Fund 2024 –  Harlan Hahn Endowment Fund in Disability Studies call for proposals is now open for 2024. Current students, faculty, and staff from all three University of Washington campuses are invited to submit a grant proposal. Applications must describe research, writing, or activist projects that are framed within, aligned with, or informed by the academic field of Disability Studies. Harlan Hahn awards typically range between $500 and $5,000. The number and amount of the grants awarded depends on the quality of the individual projects and the overall number of eligible proposals received. Deadline: April 10

**Sea Mar Community Health Center ScholarshipsNumerous scholarships for students who are of migrant or seasonal farm worker backgrounds. In addition, Sea Mar also offers a $2,500 scholarship to students who demonstrate a history of advocacy, responsibility, accountability, and perseverance. Deadline: April 15

The Department of Global Health is sponsoring a webinar on The Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza and Public Health Responses on Monday, February 26 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. PST. It is open to others across the UW campus and the community. 

The goal of this webinar panel will be to provide a more detailed understanding to the UW community of the public health aspects of the crisis and the role of global health professionals addressing current and anticipated health needs of the population.

Registration is required. **Once you register, you will be sent a link for the Zoom webinar.

The UW School of Social Work offers several assistantships and is currently accepting applications for three open positions for the 2024/2025 academic year. Assistantships are paid part-time jobs where students also receive tuition reimbursement. 

Who is Eligible?

  • MSW students who will be enrolled in 10+ credits each quarter for the 2024/2025 academic year
    • If offered a position, EDP students registered for fewer than 10 credits per quarter will need to submit a Petition for Reduced Enrollment
  • International students, undocumented students, residents, and nonresidents are all eligible
  • Students are hired based on merit, not financial need

Which Positions are Open?

  • Student Information Specialist: This is an outreach/ambassador position, responsible for supporting the Office of Admissions. We are dedicated to building recruitment, outreach, and admissions practices that support the social justice mission of the University of Washington School of Social Work. Through one-on-one advising sessions, information sessions, and other signature events, we aim to recruit, advise, and admit students who are committed to developing and strengthening the values, knowledge and skills necessary to be effective social workers and change-makers. We are looking to hire one (1) Student Information Specialist (SIS) for the 2024 – 2025 academic year who is innovative, collaborative and excited to help us raise awareness about social work education and build robust cohorts of social work students. Applications for the Student Information Specialist position for the 2024 – 2025 academic year are due by March 10th. Application details here.  
  • Student Computer Consultant: This role supports the School of Social Work computer labs help desk with a variety of software and other computing related inquiries. We are looking to hire two (2) Student Computer Consultants for the 2024 – 2025 academic year who have demonstrated knowledge with a range of software. Homelessness in Seattle is an online course offered on Monday evenings during Spring Quarter 2024. It is open to all Health Sciences students, as well as faculty emerita and staff. Through this course, students will explore causes and approaches to homelessness with local and national experts. Experiential engagement and learning will come through class activities. Students can use their own volunteer experience in assignments; for those in Seattle, U District Street Medicine can facilitate student engagement with unhoused groups and individuals. This is a 10 week, 2 credit course with interprofessional faculty Charlotte Sanders, MSW and Lois Thetford PA-C as cochairs. UW MEDEX 580 has 35 openings for credit and 15 openings for auditing. Enrollment is through the MEDEX Registrar and Student Services Manager, Tove Blake at tove@uw.edu.
