How do brains respond to rewards? A new research study for children with ASD

The goal of this study is to learn how kids’ brains respond to different kinds of rewards, and how that relates to their social and communication skills. We are inviting children between 8 and 12 years old with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

What does the study involve?

Participating children will be asked to complete one lab visit of 3 to 4 hours, including an EEG to measure brain activity as children play a computer game, as well as other games and activities. Parents will be asked to complete a questionnaire packet and phone calls at the start of the study and at a later time point.

What is the compensation?

Study compensation is $40 for the visit and $10 for the follow up phone call.

Who do I contact?

This study is conducted at the Seattle Children’s Research Institute. To learn more, contact Dr. Emily Neuhaus at emily.neuhaus@seattlechildrens.org or (206) 884-8256.
