| History Sierra Leone Angola Ivory Coast Conflict diamonds, also known as Blood Diamonds start or the production of the blood diamonds started around the 1990. During this time Sierra Leone was having serious problems and conflict diamonds only represented 4 percent of all of the world's diamonds. Some of these diamonds were being used to cause conflict to countries such as Liberia, Ivory, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Angola. Diamonds were traded into these countries by boat.
