b'Student AwardeesFadumo Diriye The Global Citizen Award recognizes students who work to expand global learning op-portunities in alignment with the mission and values of the Office of Global Affairs and the urban-serving mission of UW Tacoma. Fadumo studied abroad in South Korea in the summer of 2018 with support of the Gilman Scholarship. Since her return, she has been sharing her study abroad experience with the campus community, helping other stu-dents see study abroad as an attainable goal.Kuniya (Kuni) Yoshikawa and Misaki Seto The International Student Leadership Award is given to an international student who has shown outstanding leadership and has been meaningfully involved in campus life. Both recipients, Kuniya Yoshikawa and Misaki Seto, have proactively created more opportunities for international students to meet one another and build community at events such as UWTea Time, International Talks, and other OGA events.2019 OGA Campus Partner Awards We could not do our work without amazing colleagues across campus. In 2019, we awarded two inaugural campus partner awards to these two offices:Office of Student Financial AidOur colleagues in the Office of Student Financial Aid work tirelessly to make sure study abroad participants have access to funding for their international experiences. They offer study abroad financial aid work-shops, assist with disbursing the OGA Study Abroad Scholarship, and meet with students to help them financially prepare for study abroad. Thank you for your support! Career Development and Education Career Development and Education has collaborated with us on multiple initia-tives to better support international students. We have increased outreach to in-ternational students who are applying for internships or jobs and helped them prepare their resumes, cover letters, and professional platforms. We commend Career Development for recognizing this need and helping students navigate op-portunities in a country with unfamiliar professional expectations and processes.'
