Summer Session 2021 Workshops

The following is a listing of our planned CSSCR summer workshops. The workshops will all be in an online format. Please sign up for each workshop in advance to facilitate our providing the appropriate link and any prior materials/videos to you in a timely manner.

Also—a reminder—we are still operating our consulting services this summer in an online format. Our “drop in” consulting services can simply be accessed by sending a request to csscr@uw.edu with a brief description of your question/problem; this allows us to route you to the most appropriate consultant on duty. Consultants are on duty from 9AM to 5PM M-F throughout the summer sessions.

Best wishes,

Jerry Herting

Direct Coding of Audio Data using ATLAS.ti

Description:   This workshop focuses on the ability to directly code audio data (e.g. interviews) using ATLAS.ti software.  Direct coding of the data can make transcripting unnecessary, hence, can be initiated soon after data collection.  If time permits, some visualization techniques ( such as Word Clouds) will be introduced.  The workshop assumes a base knowledge of ATLAS.ti (see an Introduction to ATLAS.ti workshop from Fall 2020 here). While the workshop does not require having access to Atlas-ti it is helpful.  For UW students/researchers/faculty access to ATLAS.ti on CSDE terminal server is available, please contact CSDE (Center for Studies in Demography and Ecology).
