CSSCR Newsletter Autumn 2021

From the Director:

CSSCR friends! Welcome back to campus for the Academic Year 2021-22 and specifically Autumn Quarter! While we got used to the Zoom platform it was never quite the same. We look forward to being in-person and operating our services as we have done in the past. Of course, returning to campus is not exactly back to normal and we respectfully request as you use our services you mask-up and practice simple healthy behaviors (i.e. maintain some distance when possible, wash your hands, if you aren’t feeling well stay home).

Our main office has re-opened to serve you and will be operating during the hours of 8:00am to 12:00pm and 1:00pm to 5:00pm Monday through Friday.

Our drop-in in-person consulting services and drop-in computer labs largely remain the same. We will provide in-person consulting service and access to the computer labs Monday-Thursday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and on Fridays 8:00am to 5:00pm. As an experiment we will only be offering on-line consulting from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. This on-line evening service is simply accessed by sending an email to csscr_evening@uw.edu—you will receive an email response or invite to a Zoom meeting. Given this change the labs will be closed in the evening after 6:00pm.

CSSCR workshops are also back. They will be in person in our large classroom computer lab! Please see below for the Autumn Quarter line-up.

As always we are closed weekends and on all university holidays. Requests for data services, other services, and general questions can also be addressed at csscr@uw.edu. We are here to help with your students, your research, your courses!

Again it is great to be back and we look forward to serving you in-person in an Covid transmission safe/best practices manner.

Best regards,

Jerry Herting
