Yes, the Diabetes Research Center jointly sponsors the Diabetes and Metabolism Enrichment Program, together with the UW Diabetes Institute and Pacific Northwest Diabetes Research Institute. The Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason and the UW Cystic Fibrosis Research and Translation Center also participate in this program. The current schedule is available on our Seminar & Symposia page.

How are the speakers and topics for the Seminar Series & Symposia chosen? May I suggest speakers or topics for the Diabetes Research Center Enrichment Program?

Each year a message is sent to all Diabetes Research Center Affiliates asking them if they would like to recommend speakers for the Diabetes and Metabolism Seminar Series and Symposia. The recommendations that we receive are discussed by the seminar series’ Program Committee, and based on this input, a program is chosen that reflects the Diabetes Research Center Research Bases, together with the research bases of the other participating centers, in an equitable manner.
