Congratulations to InFab Lab doctoral student Michelle Katz on receiving two awards this year!
The first award Michelle received is the Electrochemical Society’s Pacific Northwest Section Electrochemistry Student Award Sponsored by Thermo Fisher Scientific. This award recognizes Michelle’s contributions to developing new materials and manufacturing strategies to fabricate three-dimensional lithium ion batteries. The ECS Pacific Northwest Section Electrochemistry Student Award was established in 2021 to recognize promising young engineers and scientists pursuing PhDs in the fields of electrochemical engineering and applied electrochemistry, and to encourage the recipients to continue careers in electrochemical engineering or applied electrochemistry. The second award Michelle received this year is from the Renewable Energy Scholarship Foundation (RESF). The RESF awards scholarships to students with ties to the Pacific Northwest who are committed to renewable energy. Since 2016, they have supported over 130 students who demonstrated success in their academic pursuits in any aspect of renewable energy, from the sciences as well as relevant pursuits in complementary fields like public policy, law, economics, and sociology. Michelle is a 2025 recipient of the RESF Daimler Scholarship . More information on Michelle and her RESF award can be found here: https://www.resf-pnw.org/
