The Best Friends Approach to dementia care is alife-affirming model used around the world, basedon principles of empathy, communication, life-storywork, engaging activity, and creative problemsolving. In this presentation, discover strategies toaddress challenging caregiving situations byfocusing on relationship and social connection.Learn how you can apply the Best Friends Approachto improve quality of life for yourself and the person in your care.

David Troxel has become internationally known for his writing andteaching in the fields of Alzheimer’s disease and long-term care. Hehas co-authored (with Virginia Bell) six influential books and articlesrelating to dementia care, including his book The Best Friends™Approach to Dementia Care.
