Thursday, January 13, 3 om – 4:15 p.m. (PST), Online

Register via Zoom (UW NetID required):

https://washington.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJIsd-ugqzspGdRI0b84FBDsO_rwAIfgqqzd

All are welcome. We recommend this event for current UW graduate students and postdocs, as well as faculty and staff invested in equity, justice, and inclusion for graduate students and postdocs across our three campuses.

We invite you to register for the first Dialogues for Change session of the winter quarter, scheduled for Thursday, January 13, 3 pm – 4:15 pm. This online session is part of the Accountability Series: From Ally to Accomplice—a collaboration between the Office of Equity & Justice in Grad Programs, Graduate Student Equity & Excellence (formerly known as GO-MAP), and Core Programs–the Office of Graduate Student Affairs. The Accountability Series invites faculty, staff, graduate students, and postdocs to not simply observe or feel bad about inequalities in Graduate Education, but to be accountable to change those inequalities. We are excited to partner with you in this work.

This Dialogues for Change session welcomes back Dr. Jen Self, PhD. The event begins with Dr. Self briefly reviewing ally, accomplice, and co-conspirator accountability models. Dr. Self will then invite you all to move to affinity groups also known as caucuses) where small groups of BIPOC and White participants will discuss specific strategies and approaches for interrupting and dismantling everyday forms of white supremacy and racism across our spaces of learning, teaching, work, and research.

This event is sponsored by The Graduate School.
