Tri-Campus Recent Graduate Virtual Job Fair

45 employers have registered to meet with upcoming and recent graduates from all 3 campuses about job opportunities – June 29th, 1:00-4:00.  The fair will feature both group and one-to-one sessions with the employers listed here.  You can sign-up for specific employers and timeslots starting June 15th.

Class of 2021 Career Readiness Week

The UW Seattle Career & Internship Center is offering graduates 3 days of webinars to jump start their job search – Plan Your Next Step (Tuesday, June 22); Articulate Your Skills & Experiences to Potential Employers (Wednesday, June 23); Find Success in the Job Market (Thursday, June 24).  These webinars are geared towards those receiving undergraduate degrees from UW-Seattle but all are welcome.

The University of Washington Upward Bound program is seeking graduate students to serve as quiz section leaders for the virtual Upward Bound Summer Academy. The course, College Success: An Introduction to Academic Essentials, is designed to introduce students to skills and resources needed to be a successful college student. Monica Viharo, Doctoral Candidate, UW School of Drama will serve as the instructor.

 

When: Classes run Monday, June 28-Friday, August 6. No classes on July 5, 16, 23, and 30 due to fieldtrips and holidays. The class will be offered from 10:00 a.m.-10:50 a.m. Quiz sections leaders will be on-line from 9:45-11. Quiz section leaders will also hold office hours and attend staff meetings.

 

Responsibilities: Attend the class; lead small group discussions and activities; grade assignments in Canvas; develop some lesson plans related to your field’s academic essentials, and create a positive learning environment for students.

 

Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or graduate school attendance, and instructional experience at the secondary or/post-secondary level. Experience teaching low-income/first-generation college students desired.

 

Time Commitment and Compensation: Approximately 15 hours a week. $29/hour.

 

Upward Bound is a College Access Program of the Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity.

We are looking for an AmeriCorps Member to help promote health education and opportunities aimed at increasing healthy behaviors. These activities will include evidence-informed training, organizing health-related activities, and informing about health resources. For example, Member can provide information about patterns of living, eating, playing, working and relaxing that are conducive to health in individuals and groups to promote positive health behaviors. Member will oversee our spaces in the Kelly ECC that are aligned with health and wellness, and encourage greater participation in these areas. Member will also manage various events and programs to promote healthy behaviors through the 9 Dimensions of Wellness.

  2. Applicant must be in good academic standing at the close of Spring quarter 2021.
  3. Applicants must plan to be enrolled in Autumn 2021.
  4. Applicants do not have to be a US Citizen or resident. International and undocumented students are welcome to apply.
