reminder that the SSW Mixed/Multiracial Affinity Group will be meeting February 6^th from 6pm-7pm. You can access the Zoom link using your UW NetID.

 Ongoing meetings will be held on the 1^st Monday of the month from 6pm-7pm, via Zoom; this is so that the Day and EDP student, faculty & staff community can participate from wherever we may be during that time.

Fellowship opportunities:

For the 2023-24 academic year, a one-quarter fellowship will be awarded to a grad/prof student.  (See UWRA Pat Dougherty Fellowship in Aging for details.)  Deadline Feb 15^th, only to DAY students (EDP not eligible).

Available for Spring Quarter 2023 is a $4000 need-based scholarship for educational expenses for undergrads as well as grad/prof students who have experience in working with elders and wish to pursue research and/or careers to serve older adults.  UWRA Scholarship in Aging  Deadline Feb 15^th

The Hooyman Intergenerational Fellowship is a merit-based scholarship for students committed to working with older adults and their families. Award amounts range from $1000 to $2000. More Info here: Hooyman Fellowship2023. Deadline May 5th

 

With the two recent shootings and ongoing violence impacting the Asian American community, we are hosting a space for people to process and build community. Participants will create a luminary jars in remembrance of loved ones as a process of healing and remembrance in addition to space to listen, share and learn from one another.

 Join us for a cup of Tea and sweets as we want to make room for Asian American voices and needs, and create healing space for conversations about how racism and violence impacts Asian American mental health.
