Once you go to Twitter.com, you'll see a section that says, "New to Twitter?" with a button below it that says "Sign Up." Clicking that will take you to this page. Fill out the forms to get signed up! Nothing out of the ordinary here.
After you fill out this form, you'll receive an email that looks similar to this.
Once you confirm that email, you'll be taken to a page similar to this one.
The right-hand column looks a little like this.
Following
The people whose Twitter accounts you are following. You can search for more by clicking on Browse Interests and Find friends. We'll explore these more in detail on the next section of this tutorial.
Followers
The people who are following your Twitter account.
Trends
Popular things that people are talking about on Twitter. In this example, #thingsimiss is a popular trend, and you too can add your "tweets" to this section if you a Twitter update that includes the "#thingsimiss" tag in it.
