Valencia graduated from American University with a B.S. in Biochemistry. During her undergraduate studies, she analyzed GC-MS data from maple syrup samples and researched MOF-supported biosensors and alternative power catalysts. She is now at the University of Washington working on multidimensional gas chromatography and chemometrics research in Dr. Synovec’s lab. Outside of chemistry, Valencia loves listening to music, visiting new places, and playing ultimate frisbee.
