    Cost: free/members, /$20 non-members. Register online. This webinar will provide an in-depth look at the Center for Home Gardening at the Missouri Botanical Garden. The center is one of the largest non-profit gardening resource hubs in the nation, providing gardening advice to thousands of visitors & callers across the US & world. It has 23 outdoor demonstration gardens. Daria McKelvey is the Supervisor, Home Gardening Information & Outreach for the Center for Home Gardening.     Cost: $25, advance registration required. Forest bathing has been popular in Japan for decades & is gaining momentum in the US. The practice encourages you to walk in the forest at a slower pace & take in the atmosphere around you. These walks are slow-paced & generally cover less than a mile of trail. During this time the guide will offer a series of invitations crafted to help participants slow down & open their senses. The Garden has shrubs & trees, as well as herbs, dye plants, fiber plants & edible plants, offering the most concentrated diversity of plant species per acre in the entire city. The presentation begins with a brief introduction to conservation biological control in gardens & discusses why this approach is ideally suited to landscape settings. Frédérique Lavoipierre teaches, writes & works as a consultant. She holds a masters degree in biology with an emphasis on ecological principles of sustainable landscapes & serves on the board of Pacific Horticulture. Recording will be available for 3 weeks.     Free. Advance registration is required. Join Friends of Seattle's Olmsted Parks for an in-person guided tour of Schmitz Preserve Park. This park is one of only two Seattle parks where our magnificent old-growth coniferous forest is still largely intact. The Olmsted Brothers firm developed design drawings for the park in 1909. The design included a shelter house & pergola, a trail system, a scenic pool, & waterfalls within the park.
