UW Botanic Gardens grounds are open to visitors. However, all buildings are closed.

The Library is closed to in-person patrons until further notice. We will continue to answer reference questions via email or the online form. Email is preferred for questions involving plant identification.

Sorry, we cannot accept book and magazine donations until further notice.

UW Botanic Gardens continues to follow all advice and directives set forth by the University of Washington, which are detailed at length on the UW Novel Coronavirus Information Page.

Volunteers are invaluable to the smooth functioning of the library, giving an average of 2000 hours per year. The library currently has eight active volunteers who typically work a 3-4 hour shift each week. Tasks include shelving, data entry, special projects, helping patrons, and other duties. Unpaid interships or directed fieldwork may also be arranged.
