New at the Memory Hub! The Balourdet Quartet Collaboration with the Memory Hub for Music-Based Memory Loss Programming
The Seattle Chamber Music Society's inaugural String Quartet-in-Residence, the Balourdet Quartet, is partnering with the Memory Hub and its community partners to embed in existing programs and co-design new music-based programming for people living with memory loss and their care partners.
Maude’s Garden wins a national award!
Maude’s Garden at the Memory Hub has been awarded the 2025 Therapeutic Garden Design Award from the American Horticultural Therapy Association, three and a half years since opening. A project of the UW Memory and Brain Wellness Center, this welcoming green space promotes sensory exploration, social connection, and emotional well-being for people living with memory loss or dementia.
Memory Navigator Consultation Services
Looking for information or support for the memory loss journey? At the Memory Hub, a care consultant from Kin On Health Care Center acts as “Memory Navigator." They provide free 30-minute appointments in Chinese or English on Monday afternoons.

Welcome to the Memory Hub: A Place for Dementia-Friendly Community, Collaboration and Impact! Bringing together people, programs and partners, the Memory Hub operates as a vibrant dementia-specific community center, collaborative workspace and training center. Spearheaded by the UW Memory and Brain Wellness Center (MBWC), and located on the campus of founding partner the Frye Art Museum, the Memory Hub welcomes visitors year-round to explore what it means to live well with dementia.

“That Extra Layer of Care”: Spotlight on Tonya Clegg, Volunteer Services Manager at Harborview Medical Center
Tonya Clegg is the Volunteer Services Manager at Harborview Medical Center. She oversees a small department with a big job: coordinating all volunteer opportunities at the hospital. Volunteers support Harborview in various ways, including visiting and assisting patients, staffing the information desks, and caring for the hospital’s public art collection. Beyond the busy clinical space, Tonya helps secure volunteers to assist at the Memory Hub, a dementia-friendly community center operated by the UW Memory and Brain Wellness Center.
Team Spotlight: Christina Kam (Memory Hub Intern)
Christina Kam, an undergraduate at Pomona College on the pre-health track, is interning at the Memory Hub to develop her special interest in compassionate dementia care.
Team Spotlight: Petra Jouflas (Frye Art Museum)
The Frye has welcomed Petra Jouflas, the new Creative Aging Programs Coordinator at the Frye! She will serve as the liaison between the Frye's Creative Aging programs and the Memory Hub.

Make meaningful connections, offer mutual support, and discover strategies that work for others. Participate online or by phone, with a free application called Zoom.
